Taunton Police Arrest Man Following Stabbing and Carjacking

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department made an arrest following a stabbing and carjacking Sunday night.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot at the Sunoco Gas Station on Broadway.

Upon arrival, police encountered a 53-year-old Taunton man who had suffered multiple stab wounds. His injuries are considered to be non-life threatening, and he was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

An initial investigation at the scene led police to believe that RYAN ODAY, 29, OF BRIDGEWATER had attacked the victim following a verbal dispute and drove away in the victim’s Audi.

ODAY was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (felony), Carjacking (felony) and Assault and Battery (misdemeanor).

This incident remains under investigation by the Taunton Police Department. Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to call the Taunton Police Department at 508-824-7522.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
