Whitman Police Seeking Home Invasion Suspects
WHITMAN — Chief Scott D. Benton reports that the Whitman Police Department is searching for a group of suspects who allegedly broke into a Whitman home and beat a resident with baseball bats.
Police responded to an Auburn Street residence at approximately 3:30 p.m. today for a report of an armed home invasion. Upon arrival, police found that a resident of the home had suffered injuries that are considered serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, after a group off approximately six to eight men entered the home and attacked him.
The resident was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The man’s mother was also home at the time of the attack, and was not injured.
Police believe this was not a random act of violence and that the victim and suspects are known to each other.
The suspects are believed to have fled the scene after the attack, and are described as black or Hispanic males in their early 20s.
Police are currently searching for the suspects, who are believed to have been driving a grey Dodge minivan with no front license plate and a grey Infiniti G35 coupe with black wheels.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Whitman Police Department. Anyone who may have information about this incident or has seen these vehicles is asked to call the Whitman Police Department at 781-447-1212.
