Come Enjoy Fun for the Whole Family at Rockland Day this Saturday

ROCKLAND — The Town of Rockland, in partnership with the Rockland Youth Commission and REiMAGINE ROCKLAND, are excited to invite people of all ages to enjoy a fun-filled day of games, music, crafts, children’s activities and more at the third annual Rockland Day this weekend.

Rockland Day will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Lower Memorial Field, 1 Col. Brian Duffy Way. The event is free and open to the public.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with free children’s activities, live bands, food vendors, arts and crafts, games and more! More than 70 vendors will be in attendance, selling food, specialty items, crafts and other wares. (Attendees are reminded to bring cash, as some of the vendors do not accept credit cards.)

At 5 p.m., there will be a Whiffle Ball Tournament at the newly renovated Veterans Memorial Stadium. Check-in for all teams begins at 4 p.m. at the stadium. With 15 teams, made up of children and adults, the tournament will add another layer of excitement to the day.

At 9 p.m., everyone is invited to gather on Lower Memorial Field for a fireworks display to cap off Rockland Day.

“Last year we had about 3,000 people who attended Rockland Day and it was a major success,” said Jeanne Blaney, Rockland Youth Commission Director. “This year we hope to see even more people come out and enjoy the best that Rockland has to offer.”

In addition to Rockland Day, the town would also like to highlight the Rockland High School Hockey 5k Dog Dash Run/Walk annual fundraiser on Saturday, June 15. The event starts at 9 a.m. at the R. Stewart Esten School, 733 Summer St. To register for the race click here: www.dogdash2019.racewire.com.

“What a great day of fun-filled activities for all to take part in and enjoy,” Interim Town Administrator James Purcell said. “Rockland Day is the perfect way to get everyone in town together for some outdoor activities and excitement.”
