Saugus Police Investigating After Pedestrian Injured in Crash
SAUGUS — Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured this morning.
At 10:06 a.m., Saugus Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of 190 Main St. for a report of crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, first responders observed a woman on the ground, with an off-duty Cambridge firefighter providing aid.
The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene and made himself known to officers. No charges or citations are pending at this time.
