Raynham Fire Department Battles Two-Alarm Structure Fire
RAYNHAM – Chief James T. Januse reports that the Raynham Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Raynham firefighters were dispatched to 607 Broadway at approximately 3:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, Lt. Bill Trautman found a 50-by-25-foot barn with fire and heavy smoke showing. He ordered a working fire assignment, bringing mutual aid companies from Easton and Bridgewater to the scene.
Chief Januse arrived and requested a second alarm response, bringing additional mutual aid companies from West Bridgewater to the scene and crews from the Taunton Fire Department for station coverage.
Raynham Police provided assistance at the fire, including managing traffic along Rt. 138, where the property is located.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire was determined to be grinding metal in the work area of the barn.
Investigators have determined that this fire was not related to the overnight fires in Taunton.
