Saugus Police Respond to Head-On Crash
SAUGUS — Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department responded to a head-on collision between a car and a tow truck Tuesday.
At approximately 12:40 p.m., Saugus police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Palmer Avenue and Lincoln Avenue between a 2012 Toyota Camry and a 2007 flatbed tow truck.
Upon arrival, police found a 38-year-old Saugus man trapped inside the Toyota. First responders used hydraulic tools in order to extricate the man, who was suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. He was then taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital.
The driver of the tow truck, a 57-year-old man from Hudson, New Hampshire, did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by Saugus Police.
