Lynnfield Center Water District Seeking Student Workers for Summer Position
LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Center Water District announces it is actively searching for a temporary student worker to support its operations this summer.
Interested students who would like to join the District for the summer can take on a variety of hands-on responsibilities while learning more about water utility management. Due to the nature of the work, applicants who will be age 18 or older by July 1 will be given preference, but those under 18 may apply and will fulfill modified duties if selected.
The individual who fills this paid role will carry out tasks under the supervision of the District’s licensed professional staff, and will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to: hydrant painting, cleaning, landscaping, general maintenance and other labor-based tasks.
Candidates should have the ability to effectively operate hand, power and pneumatic tools, as well as light trucks, jackhammers and landscaping equipment.
“This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to take on a summer job and leave a tangible and lasting impact on their community,” Board of Water Commissioner Joseph T. Maney said.
Those interested in applying should send a letter outlining their interest in the position, and water works in general, to the Personnel Manager by May 31.
Applicants should have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and preference will be given to those who live within the District. The position also features flexible hours, with a guarantee of 17 hours per week up to as many as 40 hours per week.
