Hull High School Seniors Earn South Shore League Scholar-Athlete Awards
HULL — Two Hull High School seniors were recently recognized during the ninth annual South Shore League Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner.
Andrew DelGuidice and Leah Dunn received South Shore League Scholar Athlete Awards during a ceremony on May 8 at Southers Marsh Golf Club in Plymouth.
Each year, the South Shore League recognizes one male and female athlete from the 10 member schools. Recipients are chosen based on their academics, athletic participation, sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship. Each athlete has also successfully balanced an academic schedule while participating in sports and extracurricular activities.
DelGuidice has played football and baseball all four years and currently serves as the captain for the baseball team.
Dunn is also a four-sport athlete. She began playing high school field hockey in eighth grade, then transitioned to soccer, which she’s played all four years of her high school career. In 10th grade she tested out her abilities on the basketball team, along with outdoor track, which she continued to participate in and was named captain as a senior. This year, she also joined the indoor track team, where she was named captain.
“Andrew and Leah are exemplary athletes and students who are extremely deserving of this recognition,” Athletic Director Scott Paine said. “They excel both on the field and in the classroom and we wish them the best as they continue to pursue their academic and athletic endeavors after graduation.”
