Rockland Police Release Identity of Man Arrested and Charged with Armed Robbery
Alleged Incident Remains Under Investigation
ROCKLAND — Chief John Llewellyn is releasing the identity of a man who was arrested by Rockland Police Tuesday afternoon, after allegedly showing a firearm during an armed robbery and then briefly barricading himself inside of his Church Street apartment.
IVAN J. ANDUJAR, AGE 19, OF ROCKLAND was charged with Armed Robbery.
The investigation remains active and ongoing and ANDUJAR, who is known to police, could face additional charges. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Hingham District Court.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. today, Rockland Police received a report of a man, later identified as ANDUJAR, who allegedly robbed another man at gunpoint on Howard Street.
ANDUJAR subsequently fled and was seen entering the third floor apartment of 57 Church St., a three-family residence.
Due to the circumstances, the regional MetroLEC SWAT Team was called to the scene to assist.
After briefly barricading himself inside of the home, ANDUJAR surrendered himself and was taken into custody without further incident.
A 17-year-old male inside of the apartment, who is a relative of ANDUJAR’S, was detained and questioned at the police station following the incident. He was later released into the custody of his mother and was not charged.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
