Manchester Sustainability Committee to Host Green America Speaker at Library
MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Chair Alison Anholt-White announces that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Sustainability Committee will host a Green America speaker this week for residents who wish to learn more about recycling and reducing waste.
WHEN:
Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m.
WHERE:
Manchester-by-the Sea Public Library, 15 Union St.
WHAT:
Beth Porter, Climate and Recycling Director at Green America and author of “Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine: Sorting Out the Recycling System,” will speak to attendees about the challenges communities face surrounding sustainability and waste management.
Through her work, Porter has inspired thousands of people and businesses to be more sustainable. During the event, she will provide answers to attendees’ questions about how to strengthen and reshape the town’s recycling system.
“We anticipate that Beth’s talk will be very interesting and will shed light on the issues and challenges we in Manchester-by-the-Sea are facing in the rapidly changing realm of waste management,” Anholt-White said. “We encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about sustainability and making a difference in their own habits to attend.”
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
