Saugus Police Respond to Fatal Rollover Crash
SAUGUS — Interim Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department responded to a fatal rollover crash involving a Ram pickup truck this morning.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, members of the Saugus Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a rollover crash at 407 Main St. An Armstrong Ambulance unit also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders found a 47-year-old Tewksbury man trapped inside the vehicle. First responders used hydraulic tools to extricate the man from the vehicle.
The man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he later died.
His name is not being released at this time, pending the notification of his next of kin.
Main Street was briefly closed following the crash, and the flow of traffic in the area remained limited Tuesday afternoon.
The crash is under investigation by the Saugus Police Department with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
