Easton Fire Department Invites Residents to Attend Groundbreaking for Station 2 Addition and Renovation Project

EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to invite residents to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming addition and renovation project at Easton Fire Department Station 2.

WHEN:

Monday, May 6, at 4 p.m.

WHERE:

Easton Fire Department Station 2, 87 Depot St.

WHAT:

The project will add a second floor to the firehouse that will include modern bunk rooms, a new locker room and male and female showers. The current building will also be getting a complete renovation.

The project is funded by local developer Douglas A. King as part of an agreement with the town regarding the Queset Smart Growth Overlay District that was approved at Town Meeting in 2008.

“We are thrilled that Station 2 will be getting a much-needed face lift and addition thanks to developer Doug King,” Chief Partridge said. “Not only will the project give the old building some curb appeal, but it will also modernize some of the older and outdated parts of the building like the electrical system, heating and air conditioning systems, height of the overhead doors, locker room and bathrooms.”

Chief Partridge, King, members of the Easton Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator Connor Read and others are expected to be in attendance for the ceremony.

The project is expected to be completed in approximately 90-120 days.

Station 2 will be closed while the project is ongoing. Engine 12 and the firefighters that operate out of Station 2 will be temporarily relocated to Station 3, 413 Bay Road.

Following the groundbreaking, signage will be placed in front of the entrance of the station to let people know that the station is closed. As always, if anyone has an emergency they are asked to call 911.

For more information, please call the Easton Fire Department at 508-230-0750.
