SAU 16 Invites Community to Attend Presentation on Creating Safer Schools and Healthier Children
EXETER — Superintendent David Ryan would like to invite members of the SAU 16 community to attend a free presentation on creating safer schools and healthier children.
WHEN:
Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30-8 p.m.
WHERE:
Exeter Area YMCA, 56 Linden St.
WHAT:
The event will feature a discussion with Scarlett Lewis about the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement. Her talk includes a comprehensive pre-kindergarten through 12th grade social emotional learning curriculum that teaches educators, students, parents and community members how to choose love in any circumstance.
“Scarlett’s presentation is something that everyone, whether you’re a parent, educator, first responder or community leader can benefit from,” Superintendent Ryan said. “Social emotional learning is something we’ve been focusing on throughout the district, and Scarlett brings a unique perspective to this learning method.”
Scarlett Lewis founded the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement in honor of her late 6-year-old son Jesse, who was a victim in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Over the past five years, she has worked to spread the “Choose Love” message around the world. To learn more, visit jesselewischooselove.org
