Chelmsford Police Searching for Wanted Man After Incident at Chelmsford Commons

Nashoba Valley Tech Placed on Brief Lockdown

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department is searching for a man who was involved in an incident at the Chelmsford Commons mobile home park and then fled the scene this morning.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., Chelmsford Police responded to Littleton Road for a report of a disturbance involving a 24-year-old man from Chelmsford. The man had fled prior to officers’ arrival. He has an unrelated warrant for his arrest out of Lowell District Court stemming from motor vehicle related charges.

Police initially believed that the man could have been armed with a firearm, so out of an abundance of caution, Nashoba Valley Technical High School was placed on a brief lockdown.

Shortly thereafter, through an on scene investigation, police learned that the man may be in possession of a BB gun, not a firearm. The lockdown was lifted and officers are actively searching the area for the man, but at this time, do not believe the community is in any danger.
