DRACUT — The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) Police Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce its 15th annual charity golf tournament.
WHEN:
Monday, May 20
- 11 a.m. Check-in and Registration
- 11:30 a.m. Lunch
- 1 p.m. Shotgun start, scramble format
WHERE:
Four Oaks Country Club, 1 Clubhouse Lane, Dracut
WHAT:
Since its inception in 2005, the NEMLEC Police Foundation and its all-volunteer board of directors have raised more than $150,000 to directly fund the operations of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. The Foundation has also hosted 35 high-level training courses for police officers, detectives and superior officers. The NEMLEC Foundation also raises thousands of dollars for charities that are near and dear to police officers each year, including Cops for Kids with Cancer.
The programs the tournament helps support include NEMLEC’s School Threat Assessment and Response System (STARS) training, comprehensive motorcycle training, risk management training and annual basic and advanced crime scene classes, among others.
This year’s tournament will include a special recognition of recently retired Medford Police Chief Leo “Buddy” Sacco, following his completion of 37 years of service to the Medford Police Department, including the last 28 as chief. Chief Sacco also served as president of NEMLEC. It was under his leadership that NEMLEC developed its nationally recognized STARS program, which ensures the safety of students, staff and communities, and helps those groups respond effectively in a crisis.
The tournament fee is $150 per golfer and includes a gift, lunch and a buffet dinner following the tournament. Click here to download the event brochure and registration/sponsorship forms. Click here for the sponsorship letter for this year’s tournament.
The dinner will also feature a raffle and silent auction. Those who wish to donate raffle or auction items can do so by contacting Sharon Crowley at nemlecfoundation@yahoo.com.
