Hull High School Kicks Off Spring Athletics Season
HULL — Despite the flux in temperature, spring is officially here and that means a new season of athletics is underway at Hull High School.
“We’re excited for the start of a new season and everyone is thrilled to finally be getting outside,” Principal Nicole Nosek said. “Students and coaches from all spring sports are hard at work gearing up for their seasons and showing their Pirates pride.”
HHS’ varsity and junior varsity girls lacrosse teams are led by Dan Dahill and Denise Hunt, respectively. The captains for this year’s varsity team are seniors Emily Reppucci, Charlotte White and junior Tess Froio.
The boys varsity team will once again be led by coach Chris Weber, with seniors Kyle Cuklanz and Nate Froio as captains.
“This will be coach Weber’s last season at the helm of the boys lacrosse program,” Athletic Director Scott Paine said. “He has done an amazing job over the last 16 years and we’re excited to see where he takes the team this year.”
Coach Mike O’Donnell will head the varsity baseball team, with seniors Tyler Dunham and Andrew DelGuidce serving as captains.
The track and field, softball and sailing varsity teams will all be cooperative teams with Cohasset. Track and field coaches are Brian Lanner, John Donohue and Samantha Kaplan, with seniors Jimmy Barone, Leah Dunn, Caira Redfearn and juniors Noah Lanner and Hannah Duran serving as captains.
Softball will play at two levels this spring, with a varsity and junior varsity team. Ann Marie Dunn will coach the varsity team and Bill Gerety, junior varsity. This year’s captains are senior Callie Menice and sophomore Bella Hendrickson.
To round off the spring athletics program, five students from Hull High School will compete on the Nor’easters Sailing team, which is coached by Mike Hebert and Bob Foley.
