GEORGETOWN — Chief Donald C. Cudmore and the Georgetown Police Department would like to thank Norino Mirra, the owner of Utility Contractor Mirra Construction Company, Inc. of Georgetown, for a recent donation.

Mirra donated $1,800 on Thursday, March 7 to fund an upgrade to the police department’s uniform equipment. His donation will fully equip an additional member of the department’s Honor Guard and update another member’s gear.

Mirra has supported the Georgetown Police Department in the past, and in 2005 donated $10,000 to support the department in creating its Honor Guard.

“Mr. Mirra and his family have donated countless times to the Town of Georgetown to support so many projects and these donations have allowed our community to have programs that otherwise would not exist,” Chief Cudmore said. “He is a true partner and friend to the town, and for that I am grateful as both the police chief and as a resident.”
