Chelmsford Police Department Promotes Two Veteran Members
CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney is pleased to announce that two longtime members of the Chelmsford Police Department have been promoted.
Craig Walsh and Paul Richardson, who have been with the Chelmsford Police Department for 23 and 32 years, respectively, were both promoted to the rank of sergeant this week.
Sgt. Richardson joined the department in 1985, and is a certified accident reconstruction member of the Traffic and Safety Unit. In his new role, his duties will include working as a patrol supervisor.
Sgt. Walsh was first sworn as a Chelmsford Police officer in 1996 and has served as one of the department’s detectives since 2001.He is also an arson investigator. He will supervise a patrol shift in his new role.
“I’m tremendously proud of Sgt. Walsh and Sgt. Richardson for reaching this milestone in their careers,” Chief Spinney said. “Both are invaluable members of our department, and I have no doubt they’ll continue to make excellent contributions to our team and to the community in their new roles.”
Both newly-named sergeants were sworn into their roles by Town Clerk Tricia Dzuris earlier today.
