Rockland Officials Speak At Rockland Chamber of Commerce Annual Breakfast
ROCKLAND — Interim Town Administrator Marcia Birmingham and the Rockland Board of Selectmen are pleased to announce that they attended the Rockland Chamber of Commerce Annual Breakfast yesterday and spoke about a lot of the great things on the horizon for the town.
This year’s theme focused on “Rockland Moving Forward” and assembled many of the town’s leaders to share their initiatives, accomplishments and future endeavors. The event was held at the DoubleTree Rockland hotel and was attended by Chamber members, business owners, town officials and community leaders.
Interim Town Administrator Birmingham gave an overview of the community and Selectman Michael Mullen spoke about REiMAGINE ROCKLAND and the group’s efforts to revitalize the downtown. Board of Selectmen Chair Larry Ryan and Selectwoman Kara Nyman joined Mullen in pushing for a strengthened partnership with state and federal leaders to modernize town infrastructure to achieve housing and economic development goals.
Rockland Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Alan Cron spoke about some of the innovative programming and initiatives being led across the school district, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Highway Superintendent Dave Taylor also addressed those in attendance to talk about many of the transportation projects that his department is working on.
“The breakfast served as a great way for our town leaders to share with our business community the amazing work being done in town and what is coming up in the near-future,” Selectman Mullen said. “The Rockland and South Shore Chambers of Commerce are tremendous partners in all we do, and I was thrilled to see such a great turnout.”
Interim Town Administrator Birmingham said, “I want to thank the Rockland Chamber of Commerce for hosting the breakfast and allowing us the opportunity to speak to some of our most important community stakeholders.”
