Ludlow Police Responding to Serious Crash with Injuries
LUDLOW — Chief Paul Madera reports that the Ludlow Police Department has responded to a serious three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon with multiple injuries.
At approximately 2:50 p.m., Ludlow Police responded to the intersection of Russell Street and Shawinigan Drive.
Upon arrival, officers came upon three vehicles that had crashed and multiple people that were injured, including young children.
Multiple ambulances responded to the scene and transported five injured people to a local hospital. Their injuries were considered serious and their conditions are unknown at this time.
Russell Street is currently closed at West Street, and Shawinigan Drive is closed at Shawinigan Street and Russell Street. Residents and drivers are asked to avoid the area while the crash is being investigated.
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) has responded to the scene to conduct accident reconstruction. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
