GROVELAND — Chief Jeffrey Gillen reports that the Groveland Police Department arrested two men over the weekend for possession of seven grams of heroin.

NICHOLAS LEO, AGE 31, OF HAVERHILL is charged with:

  • Possession of a Class A Drug (Heroin)
  • Possession of a Class E Drug Without a Prescription (Alprazolam and Adderall)

ANDRE BERGERON, AGE 34, OF HAVERHILL is charged with:

  • Possession of a Class A Drug (Heroin) (Subsequent Offense)
  • Possession of a Class E Drug Without a Prescription (Alprazolam and Adderall)

On Saturday, Feb. 9, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Groveland Police observed a vehicle traveling on School Street cross over the double yellow line on three occasions.

A Groveland officer then conducted a motor vehicle stop and noticed that the driver, identified as LEO, had a small blue container attached to his keys. Through training and experience, the officer recognized the container as one that is normally used to transport drugs.

LEO and his passenger, BERGERON, were asked to exit the vehicle. Following an on-scene investigation, police located seven grams of heroin inside the vehicle and on BERGERON’S person.

Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Groveland Police Department, where they were held without bail pending their arraignment at Haverhill District Court.
