Arrangements and Obituary Info Announced for Rockport Firefighter Kris Juncker Jr.
Active Duty Firefighter with 20 Years of Service Died Sunday at Age 38 from Lung Disease
ROCKPORT — Fire Chief James Doyle reports that visiting hours for active duty Rockport Fire Lt. Kris Juncker Jr. will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 4-8 p.m. at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at the First Congregational Church, located at 12 School St. in Rockport. Burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lt. Juncker’s name to the Rockport Fireman’s Association, PO Box 2, Rockport, MA 01966.
Official Obituary: Rockport Fire Department Lt. Kris Juncker Jr.
Lt. Kristian H. Juncker Jr., 38, Rockport Firefighter, husband of Jessica (Savage) Juncker of Rockport, passed away on Sunday morning, February 10th at Mass General Hospital.
Born in Gloucester on November 1, 1980, he was the son of Kristian H. Juncker Sr. and Ann M. (Manning) Pirnie.
Kris was a graduate of Rockport High School with the Class of 1999. Following graduation he joined the Rockport Fire Department. Kris was a dedicated firefighter, who always embraced the latest technology and firefighting techniques, while maintaining the traditions of the fire service. He was a mentor to all, and enjoyed training new members.
Most recently Kris discovered a love of photography, focusing on drone and landscape photography, establishing his company, Breakwater Aerials. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, hiking, model railroading, and tinkering with computers. He was much loved by his parent’s dogs and his nieces and nephews will all miss “Uncle Luda”.
Kris was a past President of the Rockport Fireman’s Association and a member of The Manchester Club.
In addition to his wife Jessica, he is survived by his father Kristian Juncker Sr. and wife Cindy; his mother Ann Pirnie and husband Dale; siblings Courtney Tranos and her children Michael, Christopher and Elias; Arrienne Andrus and husband Sean and their children Declan, Keelin and Ryann; Erik Juncker and wife Vicki and their daughter Claire; Michael Pirnie, Alexa Pirnie;
His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, Rockport. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. The burial will be held at a later date.
