Chuckran Auto Parts Owners Donate Ballistic Shields to Bridgewater Police
BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher Delmonte is pleased to announce that the Bridgewater Police Department recently received a generous donation from a local business, providing vital protective equipment that will help officers responding to critical incidents.
The owners of Chuckran Auto Parts, 1775 Old Plymouth St., Alan Chuckran, Andrew Chuckran and Richard Chuckran, purchased four ballistic shields, costing several thousand dollars apiece, and donated them to the department.
The bulletproof shields will be stationed in patrol vehicles and will be used by officers responding to active shooter or hostile events.
On Thursday, Chief Delmonte met with Andrew Chuckran and Richard Chuchran and presented them with a Chief’s Citation plaque thanking them for their generosity and support of the department.
“Chuckran’s has been an institution in Bridgewater for decades and to receive their support means a lot to our department,” Chief Delmonte said. “These high-velocity ballistic shields are vital tools in helping to keep our officers safe and better protected in the event of a critical incident. On behalf of the men and women of the Bridgewater Police Department and the community at large, I want to thank the Chuckran family for their support.”
