Raynham Fire Deputy Chief Bryan LaCivita Graduates From Chief Fire Officer Training Program
RAYNHAM — Chief James T. Januse is pleased to announce that Deputy Chief Bryan LaCivita graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program today.
LaCivita celebrated with his family at a ceremony the Department of Fire Services headquarters in Stow. He was among 37 fire service leaders from across Massachusetts who graduated from the program’s 26th class.
The 14-week program covered a variety of topics considered essential for effective public sector management including: human resource management, ethics, executive leadership and legal issues, governmental and organization structures, information management, customer-focused strategic planning, legal aspects, budgets and public finance, community awareness and public relations and labor relations.
The program helps fire officers improve their ability to lead and manage personnel and the department, to provide skills to understand employees’ needs and problems, to promote personal productivity, to increase the capacity to manage both human and technical resources and to increase inter-agency cooperation.
“On behalf of the entire Raynham Fire Department I would like to congratulate Bryan on this great accomplishment,” Chief Januse said. “Bryan has risen through the ranks of the department to become a strong leader and has always approached his numerous roles and positions with the utmost professionalism and enthusiasm. He truly is an asset to the Raynham Fire Department.”
LaCivita has been with the department since 1993, when he started as a call firefighter. From there he rose through ranks as a firefighter, senior firefighter, lieutenant, captain and now deputy chief.
He is certified as a paramedic, Credential Fire Chief, Fire Prevention Officer 2, advanced fire investigator and holds various fire officer certifications.
The thirty-seven graduates of the program serve the following fire departments: Ashburnham, Ashland, Athol, Belmont, Braintree, Brookline, Carver, Concord, Dennis, Dudley, Duxbury, Duxbury, Easthampton, Falmouth, Foxborough, Hanover, Harwich, Holyoke, Hull, Leverett, Mansfield, Massport, Melrose, Needham, North Reading, Onset, Raynham, Sharon, Somerville, Stoneham, Sturbridge, Tewksbury, West Bridgewater, West Brookfield, Westborough, Wilbraham, and Yarmouth.
