Arlington Police Arrest and Charge Man with Trafficking Fentanyl
ARLINGTON — Police Chief Julie Flaherty reports that the Arlington Police Department arrested and charged a man with trafficking fentanyl, among other charges, on Friday afternoon.
ANGEL MANUEL RODRIGUEZ, AGE 24, OF LYNN was charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Distribution of a Class A Drug (Fentanyl)
- Distribution of a Class B Drug (Cocaine)
At approximately 2:20 p.m. Friday, members of the Arlington Police Criminal Investigation Bureau, Arlington Police Patrol Division and members of the the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force conducted a drug investigation into RODRIGUEZ allegedly selling fentanyl and cocaine.
An undercover officer met RODRIGUEZ at his vehicle in the parking lot of Fremont Court and allegedly bought fentanyl and cocaine from him.
Following the transaction, RODRIGUEZ was pulled over by officers a short time later and was subsequently placed under arrest.
In a search of RODRIGUEZ’S vehicle, officers located and seized multiple plastic baggies of fentanyl and cocaine and $2,983.
The total amount of fentanyl sold to the undercover officer and seized from RODRIGUEZ’S vehicle weighed 56.58 grams. The cocaine confiscated during the operated totaled 3.7 grams.
RODRIGUEZ was booked at the Arlington Police station and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at Cambridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
