ROCKLAND — Chief John Llewellyn today released an audio recording of the 911 call made by a 9-year-old Rockland boy who called for help after his 6-year-old sister suffered a seizure.
“My sister, she’s breathing but she’s not responding,” Joshua Joseph told the dispatcher. “I’m nine. My dad told me to call 911.”
Joseph stayed on the line with the dispatcher from the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center for over three minutes, answering questions and providing vital information until police and fire department personnel arrived at his house.
On Tuesday, the R. Stewart Esten Elementary School fourth grader was honored for his bravery by the Rockland Police Department and Rockland Fire Department at an assembly in front of all of his classmates and teachers.
