Saugus Police Investigating Incident Involving Shots Fired

SAUGUS — Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred this morning during which shots were fired.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Saugus Police received a report of a disturbance involving a man and woman at the apartment complex at 30 Hamilton St.

While en route to the location, police received a second report that shots had been fired.

Prior to police’s arrival to the scene, the man involved fled the scene in a Ford Taurus, which was recovered a few blocks away on Riverbank Road.

“We want residents to rest assured that there is no danger or threat to the residents at 30 Hamilton St. or the community at large,” Chief Giorgetti said.

This is an active investigation. Police are currently searching for the male involved and speaking with the woman to gather additional information.

All further inquiries should be directed to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
