East Bridgewater Police Department’s No Shave November Effort Raises $1,425 for Home Base
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen is pleased to announce that the East Bridgewater Police Department has donated $1,425 to Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program dedicated to helping veterans and their families, through its No Shave November program.
Each of the participating officers pledged $100 to Home Base in exchange for month-long waiver from the department policy restricting facial hair growth.
Home Base is dedicated to helping Sept. 11 service members, veterans and their families who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, have a traumatic brain injury, or other related conditions.
“It was awesome to see our officers come together and raise money for such a great cause,” Chief Allen said. “This is the season of giving and Home Base is truly a worthy cause to rally behind.”
Yesterday morning, East Bridgewater Police Sgt. Michael McLaughlin and Officer Michael Randall attended a closing ceremony for No Shave November at Fenway Park hosted by Home Base.
Those in attendance were able to take pictures with the Red Sox 2018 World Series trophy and were thanked for their donations by Home Base and Red Sox officials.
Following the ceremony, Sgt. McLaughlin and Officer Randall, along with several others who participated in No Shave November, went to the Bostonian Barber Shop to have their beards shaved off professionally.
