Easton Police Investigating Armed Robbery of Gas Station
EASTON — Chief Gary Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a gas station convenience store early Monday morning.
At approximately 5:20 a.m., Easton Police received multiple calls reporting a robbery at the New World gas station, 460 Turnpike St. The business, located at the corner of Route 138 and Route 106, opens at 5 a.m.
Responding officers learned that a man entered the store and ordered the clerk to empty the cash register while pointing a handgun at him. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash then fled on foot eastbound on Foundry Street (Route 106).
A K-9 officer from West Bridgewater Police responded to assist. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The clerk was uninjured, but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
As a result of an on-scene investigation, police determined that the suspect was wearing a rubber Halloween mask and all black clothing.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident. Anyone who has information about this incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area is asked to call Easton Police at 508-230-3322.
