Arlington Police Identify Two Additional Suspects in Recent Bank Robberies
ARLINGTON — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department has identified two additional suspects in connection with two robberies of the same bank in August and September.
SUSAN BURGESS, AGE 43, OF GROTON was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
An additional suspect has been identified and is currently in custody on unrelated charges. Additional information about this third suspect will be released as soon as it is available.
Yesterday, the department also announced that WILLIAM R. BARO II, AGE 43, OF BILLERICA had been arrested and was charged with two counts of Unarmed Robbery and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
BARO, BURGESS and the third suspect are accused of conspiring to rob the Winchester Savings Bank on Medford Street, which was struck twice, on Tuesday, August 14 and again on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
The Arlington Police Criminal Investigation Bureau investigated the dual robberies, and Chief Ryan credits their hard work with putting together a complex case involving multiple suspects.
The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the Billerica Police Department, Groton Police Department and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office assisted the Arlington Police Department in the investigation.
BURGESS was held pending arraignment at Cambridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
