Middlesex Partnerships for Youth to Host Annual Safety Summit

WAKEFIELD — Middlesex Partnerships for Youth Executive Director Margie Daniels is pleased to announce that public safety and community leaders from throughout the region will come together at the organization’s annual Safety Summit.

WHAT: 

The organization’s 23rd annual summit; Security and Emergency Preparedness: An All Hazards Training for Schools, will focus on prevention and a the wide variety of safety hazards that threaten schools and their students, faculty and staff.

Law enforcement, public safety, education and community leaders will address current trends related to safety for schools and communities. The featured presenters will offer concrete options and lay the groundwork for guidelines that municipalities, school districts and community organizations can use to develop safety protocols.

Middlesex Partnerships for Youth is a non-profit organization, founded in 1988, which fosters safe and supportive learning environments by providing prevention and intervention resources and training to school districts and communities in Eastern Massachusetts.

Through the efforts of MPY, educators, parents, and students regularly engage in collaborative training with law enforcement, social services and community- based organizations as well as share cutting edge information and resources. Such interactions provide the foundation for creating solution-based multi-disciplinary approaches to promoting health and safety for youth in Eastern Massachusetts. Training topics include, but are not limited to, youth mental health, trauma, bullying, cyber, substance abuse and teen dating relationships.
