Arlington Police Department Investigating Bank Robbery
ARLINGTON — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department is investigating an unarmed bank robbery.
Arlington Police responded at 2:40 p.m. to the Winchester Savings Bank on Medford Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male suspect had walked into the bank and showed a teller a note demanding money.
The suspect was given an unspecified quantity of cash and fled toward Maynard Street.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s. He was wearing a black Boston Bruins hooded sweatshirt, heart-shaped sunglasses and a baseball cap.
The incident is under investigation by the Arlington Police Department. The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force has responded to the scene.
“We will utilize all assets at our disposal to hold the suspect responsible for this brazen robbery in our community,” Chief Ryan said. “If anyone heard or saw anything out of the ordinary this afternoon, I strongly urge them to contact police.”
If anyone has any information on this bank robbery or recognizes the suspect seen in the surveillance photo, they are asked to contact the Arlington Police Department at 781-643-1212.
