Littleton Police Arrest Two in Drug Trafficking Investigation
LITTLETON — Chief Matthew J. Pinard reports that the Littleton Police Department arrested two women today and charged them with selling drugs.
KATHERINE SHIPTON, AGE 40, OF SHIRLEY, was charged with:
- Trafficking in Cocaine
- Failure to Stop for Police
DAWN FLYNN, AGE 47, OF AYER, was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug (Cocaine)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug (Heroin)
The arrests come as a result of a months-long investigation by Littleton Police detectives into drug activity at 188 Littleton Road in Ayer. The house is close to the Littleton-Ayer town line. Ayer Police assisted with the investigation.
Today, Littleton Police were conducting surveillance of 188 Littleton Road and arrested SHIPTON and FLYNN in separate motor vehicle stops as they left the home. The motor vehicle stops were based on information that had been gathered during the course of the investigation, in addition to alleged drug activity observed by the officers that were conducting surveillance today.
SHIPTON was pulled over and arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m. after a brief pursuit on King Street in Littleton. In a search of her vehicle by a Littleton Police K9, officers located and seized over 40 grams of cocaine and several hundred dollars in cash.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., FLYNN was stopped in her vehicle on King Street after leaving the home. A search of her car yielded four grams of heroin, one gram of cocaine and cash. She was subsequently placed under arrest.
A total of $1,278 was seized.
Both women are expected to be arraigned Friday in Ayer District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
