Easton Police Arrest and Charge Man with Trafficking Heroin
EASTON — Chief Gary Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department arrested and charged a man with trafficking heroin yesterday following a lengthy investigation.
JAMES KIM, AGE 33, OF EASTON was charged with:
- Trafficking in Heroin
- Possession of a Class B Drug (Suboxone)
- Possession of a Class E Drug (Assorted Pills)
- Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law
As part of their investigation, detectives had obtained search warrants for KIM’S home and his white Honda Civic coupe.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, detectives from the Easton Police and the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force observed KIM leaving his home on Shagbark Road.
KIM was subsequently pulled over by an Easton Police officer and detained.
KIM was taken back to his home where he peacefully allowed officers to enter the house in order to search the premises.
Inside KIM’S bedroom, officers allegedly located and seized nine grams of heroin, two pill bottles with approximately 150 assorted pills, two doses of Suboxone, four digital scales, drug packaging materials and $1,400 in cash.
KIM was placed under arrest and taken to the Easton Police Department to be booked.
During the booking process, KIM was found to have an additional 18 grams of heroin in his pants. The heroin was wrapped in several small baggies, indicating that they were packaged for distribution.
KIM’S arrest comes after a weeks-long investigation into him allegedly selling heroin in Easton and surrounding communities.
Bail was set at $5040 and KIM is expected to be arraigned Friday at Taunton District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
