Rockport Police to Celebrate Lieutenant Mark Schmink’s Graduation from FBI National Academy

ROCKPORT — Chief John Horvath is pleased to announce that the Rockport Police Department will be celebrating Lieutenant Mark Schmink’s recent graduation from the FBI National Academy at a reception next week.

On Friday, June 8, Lt. Schmink graduated from the FBI National Academy, Session 272, in Quantico, Virginia.

The intensive 10-week course is internationally renowned for its course work in areas of leadership, advanced communication, intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, forensic science and fitness training for police leaders.

In recognition of Lt. Schmink’s achievements and his return to Rockport from the academy, the department will host a reception for him on Wednesday, June 20, from 2-4 p.m. in the Rockport Police Department Community Room, 168 Main St.

“We are all proud of Lt. Schmink’s hard work in successfully graduating from the FBI National Academy,” Chief Horvath said. “We look forward to having him back in Rockport and I am confident that our department is even stronger now with the knowledge and training he has received.”

The reception will provide the opportunity for community members to speak with Lt. Schmink and learn about his training and experiences. Friends, family, and members of the Rockport community are all invited to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
