Bedford Police Invite Parents and Teens to BeBold Speaker Series Event
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John J. Bryfonski and the Bedford Police Department would like to invite teens and their parents to attend an upcoming BeBold event focused on addiction prevention.
WHEN:
Monday, June 11, from 7-8 p.m.
WHERE:
Bedford Library McAllaster Room, 3 Meetinghouse Road
WHO:
A former Bedford High School student who has battled addiction
WHAT:
Bedford teenagers in grades six through 12 and their parents are encouraged to hear a former Bedford High School student, who will recount her personal battle with addiction.
Attendees will learn more about how she started down the path of substance abuse and became addicted to alcohol and later to heroin. The event is free and open to the public.
“This former student’s experience with addiction and provide some powerful insight into how addiction affects people from all walks of life,” Chief Bryfonski said. “Her story is must-hear for teenagers and their parents so they can understand just how dangerous the addiction cycle can be.”
The event is hosted by BeBold — a nonprofit drug awareness, education and prevention coalition that includes adult and youth volunteers — the Bedford Police Department, school leaders and local professionals.
