Newburyport Police to Participate in Bike Rodeo

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray is pleased to announce that the Newburyport Police Department will participate in a bike safety rodeo this weekend and invites the public to attend.

WHEN:

Saturday, May 5 from 1-3 p.m.

A rain date is set for Sunday, May 6.

WHERE:

Cushing Park in Newburyport

WHAT:

The Newburyport Police will participate in a bike safety rodeo hosted by Newburyport Livable Streets, in conjunction with Riverside Cycles and the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School program, to promote safe biking habits for children.

Attendees can receive a bike and helmet safety check, review road signs, learn hand signals and ride through a traffic safety obstacle course. Participants can then test what they’ve learned for a chance to win raffle prizes.

This event is free and open to the public, but residents are asked to register with their child’s age beforehand by clicking here.
