Reading Police to Host Open House
READING — Chief Mark Segalla is pleased to announce that the Reading Police Department will be hosting an open house next month and is encouraging residents to attend.
WHEN:
Saturday, May 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Reading Police Station, 15 Union St.
WHO:
Officers from the Reading Police Department
WHAT:
The open house will feature K-9 officers, SWAT vehicles and SWAT equipment from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), as well as equipment from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office and performances by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives K-9 unit.
Members of the community are encouraged to bring their children to play in the bouncy house and enter the raffle for a chance to win a bike helmet. Additionally, the Free Masons will be creating child fingerprint kits for interested families and the police station will be open for residents to tour.
“Our department is always excited for these open houses every year because it allows us an opportunity to get to know the members of our community in a fun setting,” Chief Segalla said. “We’ll have plenty of great activities for both parents and children, and we hope everyone will take some time to stop by!”
The entire event, including food, is free and open to the public.
