Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments Participate in Active Threat Recovery Training
CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department — along with several partner agencies — participated in active threat response training last week.
The training, which took place April 17-20 at Parker Middle School, placed an emphasis on quickly neutralizing a threat and providing critical aid to victims. Officers and firefighters worked throughout the week to develop the skills they would need to help victims in a hostile environment.

“This exercise was a collaborative effort by the Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments to enhance coordination and communication between the town’s first responder resources,” Chief Spinney said. “Above all else, we hope to never need to use this training in a real scenario, but I’m grateful for the close cooperation of our colleagues in making sure that we are as prepared as possible.”
Trinity Ambulance and Greater Lowell EMS also participated in the training exercises, which were completed over the course of four days in order to ensure that all members of the police and fire departments were able to participate.
