Georgetown Police and Fire Departments Investigating CO Incident

GEORGETOWN — Police Chief Donald C. Cudmore and Fire Chief Fred A. Mitchell Jr. report that the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments are investigating a carbon monoxide incident that occurred at a residence this morning.

Two of the first arriving Georgetown Police officers that entered the house were evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation, but have since been cleared and released.

On Saturday, April 21 at 7:46 a.m., Georgetown Police and Fire were dispatched to a residence on Raymond Road for a reported fire alarm.

Upon arrival, first responders observed a car running in the garage, but found that no one was home.

The incident is under investigation, but officials believe that the resident of the home accidentally left the car running in the garage and was picked up by a friend.
