Taunton Police Investigating Crash Involving Pedestrian

TAUNTON — Police Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a pedestrian crash that seriously injured a woman Tuesday morning.

At approximately 7:23 a.m., Taunton Police responded to Industrial Park Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers observed that the victim, a 48-year-old Taunton woman, was seriously injured. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to Morton Hospital and later flown by a medical helicopter to a Boston hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 35-year-old Taunton man, driving a 2011 Kia SUV, collided with the woman as she walked along the road. The man stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers.

The crash is under investigation by Lt. Paul Roderick and Patrolman Michael Higgins.

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, no charges or citations had been filed.
