Neighbor Brigade to Host Celebrating Neighbors Event
BEDFORD – Neighbor Brigade is pleased to announce that it will be hosting an event to support the organization and celebrate neighbors next month and invites the public to attend.
Saturday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
The home of Diane and David Bernstein
7 Alaska Avenue, Bedford, MA
Neighbor Brigade invites residents to join them for a cocktail reception and silent auction to celebrate neighbors and support the work of the volunteers in their communities.
Neighbor Brigade establishes community-specific networks of volunteers that can mobilize to help residents facing sudden crisis manage their day-to-day tasks like meal preparation, rides and basic household chores. Using a web-based coordination system, the Brigade manages recipient requests and the recruitment of volunteers to fulfill those requests sensitively, quickly and free of charge.
During the event next month, former recipients of care, Nibha Jolly and her husband Ashish Bhatia will briefly share their story.
“The volunteers we work with throughout Neighbor Brigade are such a special group of people and we want to take this chance to show our appreciation for all of their hard work and dedication to helping others,” said Bedford chapter leader, Amy Mason. “We invite the public to join us and enjoy a nice evening with good company and to support a wonderful cause.”
The Bedford Neighbor Brigade chapter has 304 volunteers who have donated approximately 670 hours of their time to serve clients and families in need. Since its founding, the Bedford Chapter has served more than 710 families and completed 2,332 tasks.
