Route 44 in Raynham Closed Due to Downed Telephone Poles, Motorists Urged to Avoid Area

RAYNHAM —  Chief James Donovan reports that Route 44 in Raynham is closed due to six downed telephone poles that have exposed live wires.

Raynham Police and Fire are on scene at Route 44 at Route 24 after heavy winds caused the telephone poles to fall. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.

First responders are working to safely remove residents from their vehicles who were in the area at the time the power lines fell.

The Massachusetts State Police have also blocked all ramps leading to Route 44.
