Charges Dropped Against One of Two Rockland High School Students Arrested Last Week
ROCKLAND — Chief John R. Llewellyn reports that charges against one of the two teens that were arrested last week have been dropped in relation to an incident where threats were allegedly made against Rockland High School.
Following an investigation, it was determined that a 14-year-old male student would not be charged. It was determined that the other teen arrested, a 15-year-old male student, used the 14-year-old’s cell phone to allegedly call a Boston television news station and threatened to harm people at their school.
The investigation showed that the 14-year-old was unaware of the 15-year-old’s intentions when the call was allegedly made.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon, Feb. 16 inside the Rockland High School cafeteria. Rockland Public Schools briefly sheltered in place while Rockland Police officers located and arrested the two students.
No further information will be released at this time.
