Stephany Infante Joins GLTS School Committee Representing Lawrence
ANDOVER — Superintendent John Lavoie is pleased to announce that alumna Stephany Infante joined Greater Lawrence Tech’s School Committee as a representative from Lawrence.
Infante, who stepped into her role on Jan. 1, first got involved in the School Committee in 2010 as a student representative for GLTS — a position she remained in until her graduation in 2012.
Now back on the board, Infante is focused on learning about the school’s current goals and objectives. She’d also like to increase engagement between students and committee members by involving both groups in the one another’s meetings and activities.
“GLTS gave me endless opportunities and was the starting point for so many of my future accomplishments. I wanted to find a way to give back to the GLTS community and I believe serving on the School Committee will allow me to do that,” Infante said. “I also want to ensure that students have all the tools they need to grow and succeed both academically and in their technical area of study.”
During her four years at GLTS, Infante studied marketing (which is now integrated into the business technology shop) and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in marketing from Fitchburg State University.
A 21-year resident of Lawrence, Infante currently serves as a senior marketing coordinator at Charles River Laboratories.
“Stephany will bring a unique perspective to the School Committee as a recent graduate who has gone on to a career in a field she first explored as a student at GLTS,” Superintendent Lavoie said. “We’re happy to have her on board and look forward to her contributions.”
