‘The Slippery Slope to Substance Abuse’ Event to be Held in Partnership with BeBOLD
BEDFORD, N.H. — The Bedford Police Department, in partnership with BeBOLD (Bedford – Building Our Lives Drug-Free) will host an informative event aimed at substance abuse prevention among teenagers.
“The Slippery Slope to Substance Abuse” event is open to youths in grades 6 through 12, and adults.
WHEN
Monday, Jan. 29, from 7-8 p.m.
WHERE
Bedford Public Library, 3 Meetinghouse Road, inside the McAllister Room
WHAT
Young men from the Teen Challenge program will be speaking about their history with substance abuse and how it all started. They will talk about statistics for those who use marijuana at an early age and how it, along with alcohol and tobacco, typically led to the use of harder and more harmful substances.
Speakers will discuss their own experiences, how they felt during that time of their lives and the social influences that played a role in their decisions.
The 40 minute presentation will be followed by a 20 minute question and answer session, moderated by Chief Bryfonski, who is also the vice president of BeBOLD.
