Winchester Police Arrest Man After Road Rage Incident
WINCHESTER — Chief Peter MacDonnell reports that the Winchester Police Department arrested a man today following an alleged road rage incident.
SCOTT LAWRENCE, AGE 58, OF DRACUT, is charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, Winchester Police received a report from a woman who claimed that a man, later identified as LAWRENCE, had just threatened her with a 1 and 1/2 foot piece of steel after an alleged road rage incident.
According to the victim, LAWRENCE had allegedly cut her off at the Winchester Center traffic rotary. When the victim beeped her horn, LAWRENCE stopped and exited his vehicle holding the piece of steel. The two exchanged words and LAWRENCE returned to his vehicle and drove eastbound on Church Street.
Shortly after, LAWRENCE was stopped by Winchester Police at the intersection of Church Street and Bacon Street where he was taken into custody without incident.
LAWRENCE is expected to be arraigned at Woburn District Court this afternoon.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
