LITTLETON — Chief Matthew J. King is pleased to announce that the Littleton Police Department is participating in No-Shave November to raise money for the Littleton Parks and Recreation Department’s annual holiday toy drive.

In Littleton, the campaign will run from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1. Ten participating officers, who are members of the Local 204 Littleton Patrolman’s Union, each pledged $100 to grow out their facial hair for the month.

“Most of us have to shave every day, so to be able to participate in this event is exciting,” Union President Mike Crory said. “It’s a great feeling to hand over that check at the end of the month and know it’s going toward a great local cause.”

Last year, the officers raised more than $1,000, which was donated to the town’s Holiday Helpers toy drive. Each year, a large tree is put in the lobby of the Parks and Recreation Department, 33 Shattuck St., with cards hung on them that have a toy request written from a local boy or girl. The drive raised a total of $13,000 in 2016 and helped 65 children get toys for the holidays.

Toy donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the Parks and Recreation Department. Monetary donations can be made on the police department’s GoFundMe page, and can also be either dropped off at the police station or mailed to:

Littleton, MA 01460

If donating, please be sure to note/memo that the donation is for No-Shave November. If writing a check, please make it out to the Littleton Patrolman’s Union.

The Littleton Police Department will present the money to the Parks and Recreation Department at the beginning of December.

“Please join the Littleton Police Department as we work to brighten the holiday season for dozens of local children,” Chief King said.
