Andover Postpones Trick-or-Treating to Sunday Night
ANDOVER — Town Manager Andrew Flanagan reports that due to damages caused by the weekend storm and the town’s ongoing recovery efforts, trick-or-treating has been moved to this weekend.
Halloween festivities will now be held on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 4 -7 p.m.
Trick-or-treating, which occurs every year in Andover on Oct. 31, was postponed due to Sunday night’s storm, which knocked out power to 80 percent of Andover. National Grid
continues to work to restore power to residents, businesses and municipal buildings, while the Department of Public Works focuses its efforts on clearing roadways of debris.
“Ensuring the safety of our community is our number one priority following Sunday night’s storm,” Town Manager Flanagan said. “Given that thousands of residents are still without power and that crews are still working on cleanup efforts, we felt it would be best to postpone trick-or-treating until this weekend. I want to thank the community for their patience during this process.”
Further updates on the recovery and restoration process in town will be provided later today.
