Avon Middle-High School to Host Open House for Incoming Students
AVON — Principal Dawn Stockwell would like to invite middle and elementary school students, their parents and community members to attend Avon Middle-High School’s Prospective Student Night to learn more about all the district has to offer.
WHEN:
Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m.
WHERE:
Avon Middle-High School, 287 West Main St.
WHAT:
To learn more about Avon Public Schools, fifth and sixth grade students who will soon be attending middle school, and seventh and eighth grade students who want to learn about the kind of high school experience they can have in Avon, are encouraged to attend the Middle-High School open house.
During the event, students and parents will have the chance to learn more about the classes, programs and activities offered at the Middle-High School.
At the start of Prospective Student Night, attendees will be invited into the auditorium for a welcome assembly hosted by the administration.
Students and their parents will then have the opportunity to take a tour of the building led by current students and find out more about classes offered at the middle and high school (including Advanced Placement courses), the internship work study program, after school clubs, athletics and more.
Members of the student council will also be available to answer questions and further elaborate on specialty classes, like metalsmithing with jewelry, artistic sculpture making and painting, computer coding where students can build technological programs and make movies, and the technology and engineering opportunities for middle and high school students.
“We hope to see all of our students who are preparing to jump from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school come out to learn more about all the amazing work being done in Avon,” Principal Stockwell said. “It’s sure to be a fun night!”
